Laser marking of plastic materials is challenging due to the wide range of materials available. With decades of experience in both the plastic and laser industries, we are capable of marking numerous types of plastics. We also master various raw materials, compounds, and masterbatch additives that influence the marking result. Laser-active additives help enhance the contrast, wear resistance, and color stability of the markings.
LQM – Quick Tests
Quick tests with various laser technologies and laser wavelengths quickly provide preliminary information on markability. A quick test of a prototype or product can be done in a few hours, so the cost is very affordable.
Optimization and focusing
After the quick test, the focus is on optimizing the parameters with the selected laser wavelength. The focusing results in a recipe for controlling the laser marking equipment.
Laser-active auxiliaries
Laser-active auxiliaries help with the contrast, wear resistance and color stability of the markings. The plastic raw material is mixed with an auxiliary masterbach. After the production process, there is no visible color difference in the product. The auxiliary is activated in the laser marking process and changes color.
